Garden ~ Tea in the Gazebo

August is beginning to wind down, shadows are getting longer earlier in the day, and summer will soon be but a memory.  There is much to treasure in autumn; for now, we'll enjoy the last lazy days of the season of sun.  Perhaps a pitcher of iced tea inside the gazebo is the best  way to share these  special moments.

Tablescape ~ Embroidery and Cupcakes

What is not to like about this table?!  Country cottage in all its charm.  The motif on the hand-embroidered tablecloth is plates and no two are alike.  Add real plates, fill them with flowers, cupcakes, and a couple of napkins and the party is nearly underway.  Does summer get any better than this when it comes to having tea?

Tablescape ~ Tea Cups, Saucers, and Charm

There's something very charming about mismatched cups and saucers.  It speaks to heirlooms, used ones, handed down from one generation to another.  Stack a couple of dessert plates and top them with a mismatched cup and saucer.  Surround them with hand embroidery, silver plated candlesticks, and old glass bowls.  Add a pretty silk posy and a bit of sparkle from an old jewelry box.  Pure charm.
