The crimson shade of this covered bridge compliments perfectly the fall leaves that surround it. And look at the waterfall in the background. It flows with power and urgency. Yet the water beneath the bridge is calm and tranquil. What a stunning site!

I've always loved covered bridges that are on old country roads. Isn't this one charming? I love the large scale lattice slats of wood on the bridge, and I love that it is surrounded by the colors of autumn.

Above thatch-roofed cottages, smoke pipes from chimneys past parched-leafed trees. Patches of summer's final blooms line the riverbed as a horse drawn carriage makes its way over the cobblestone bridge. The sun has nearly set in the west and a cozy autumn evening is just about to begin beneath the pink sky. The driver of the carriage must be thinking, "Home. I'm finally home."

Leaves float on the water and a small boat is tied to a rock near a foot path. Evergreens and deciduous trees tower over this stone bridge. The boat will soon be occupied again and will set sail underneath the bridge toward home.
