Tea Tablescape ~ Favorite China Patterns

 

Using cheerful and favorite China dishes is a great way to set the color scheme for afternoon tea.  In the photograph above, even the colors in the China patter and the thumbprint cookies compliment each other!  Note how the plate is placed on stemware to give height and dimension to the tablescape.

Garlands of delicate glass tiles are chosen to match the colors of the dishes.  Although the pattern in the plate does not match the cup, nor does the cup match the saucer, the color red pulls the entire theme together.  Further, it evokes a contemporary atmosphere and marries it to the tradition of afternoon tea.  Charming!

A centerpiece that includes hand fans in pink and white are perfect for a spring tablescape.  A tea party is a perfect place to feature a heart motif, especially for a bridal shower.

Christmas Feather Trees ~ Picket Fence

Those who place feather trees atop a table give great care to the base of the tree.  A white picket fence is a refreshing surround into which a charming scene of the season may be placed.  Beneath a tree adorned with miniature old-fashioned glass ornaments, tiny bottle brush trees frosted in white evoke the feeling of a snowy holiday.  Placing Santa and his reindeer insid the picket fence adds to the magic that is Christmas.

Christmas Feather Trees ~ White with Red

 

Some feather trees are made with white feathers and, when dressed in winter decor, suggest a dusting of snow and evoke a cottage charm.  Plain red ornaments, white snowflakes, and some vintage Christmas tags keep this tabletop beauty both simple and festive.

Taking Tea in the Garden

 
Taking tea in the garden is a delightful way to enjoy the season of sun while sipping a favorite steeped beverage.  Hot or iced, tea is enjoyable outdoors, too.  Consider moving those favorite upholstered chairs to the lawn and invite Mother Nature to join you.
