It's 4th of July weekend for those who live in the U.S., and that means a 3-day weekend for some. The holiday falls on a Saturday this year. However you choose to spend it, there is much fun to be had this weekend!
Easter Tea ~ Garlands of Pastel Eggs
Easter is a great theme for an afternoon tea. Creating a springtime theme of chicks, bunnies, and pastel eggs pays tribute to this special holiday. Whether the tea takes place outside or inside, greet your guests with festive garlands such as the one in this photograph. Pastel eggs are strung end to end, and the garland is hung by cheery yellow ribbons. A footed glass dish and glass hold more eggs. What a festive vignette!

Easter Tea ~ And A Birthday Party, Too
Today is my older son's birthday. He is grown now and is married with children. When he was growing up, we frequently celebrated his birthday on Easter with our whole family. It was always fun to combine pastel colors with a little boy's birthday. Just the right amount of stripes in the decor was perfect for a young boy.
I wish I had thought to make candles out of eggs! His birthday candles were naturally always on his cake, but how sweet it would have been to use the idea in the photograph below.
If you have a family member celebrating a birthday near Easter, consider this idea. So sweet!
